Terms of Service

By downloading, installing or using the Vobot Recorder app you accept these terms. The sections on telling people before you record, on AI output and on liability are worth reading first.

Last updated 2026-08-11

1. Scope

These terms cover the Vobot Recorder app, the services that accompany the device and the related cloud features. Warranty and after-sales handling for the hardware follow the policy of the channel you bought it from.

2. Your account

Provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials safe.

Activity under your account is treated as your own. Tell us as soon as you notice anything unauthorised.

Minors below the age of consent should use the service with a guardian’s permission.

3. Subscriptions, billing and renewal

Some features come with a free allowance. Going beyond it, or using advanced features, requires a subscription. What is included, the billing period and the price are those shown at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal. After cancelling you keep access for the remainder of the current period.

Subscriptions bought through an app store are billed and cancelled by that store; manage them in the store subscription settings.

4. Returns and refunds

Hardware returns and exchanges follow the published policy of the channel you bought from.

Subscription refunds follow the rules of the purchase channel. Statutory withdrawal or refund rights are unaffected.

5. Tell people before you record

Recording law differs by country and region. In some places you need the consent of everyone present before you start.

Let the people around you know and get their agreement before recording. Judging whether a recording is lawful, and any consequence of getting it wrong, is your responsibility.

6. Your content

The recordings you upload, and the transcripts and notes generated from them, are yours.

To provide the service (storage, transcription, notes, search, translation and syncing across your devices) you grant us permission to process that content to the extent necessary. The permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

7. About AI output

Transcripts and notes are model-generated. They can misrecognise words, skip content or summarise inaccurately, particularly with strong accents, background noise or dense terminology.

Do not treat AI output as legal, medical or financial advice. When it matters, go back to the original audio.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful activity, to infringe on the rights of others, or to distribute harmful content.

Do not disrupt the service, and do not access it, other accounts or other people’s data in an unauthorised way.

Do not reverse engineer the app or firmware, scrape the service in bulk, or automate around usage limits.

9. Intellectual property

The app, firmware, server software, interface design and related marks belong to us or their respective owners.

What you receive is a licence to use the software under these terms, not ownership of it.

10. Third-party services

The service may include capabilities or links provided by third parties. We choose partners carefully but are not responsible for their content or services, which are governed by their own terms.

11. Changes, suspension and termination

We may adjust, suspend or discontinue parts of the service. Significant changes are announced in advance, and paid entitlements that are affected are handled fairly.

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that seriously breaches these terms or is used unlawfully.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. We work to keep it available but do not promise it is uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of data or loss of profit. Our total liability for direct loss is limited to what you paid for the service in the preceding twelve months.

Consumer rights granted by mandatory law are not limited by this section.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the place where the operating entity is established, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live.

Disputes should first be raised with us directly. If that does not resolve them, they go to the competent forum at the operating entity’s location.

14. Changes to these terms

Updates are reflected on this page and in the date above. Significant changes are announced in the app in advance; continuing to use the service after the notice period means you accept the updated terms.

15. Contact

Use the Feedback entry in the app or the email address below.
